Name: Alex Mendez
Alex Mendez, Managing Director at Storm Ventures
Background: Prior to Storm Ventures, Alex spent twenty-one years in networking and computing at ROLM, IBM, Stratacom, and Cisco in several executive positions. He was part of the founding team at Stratacom, which Cisco acquired ($4.3 billion) in 1996. He was a SVP/GM during Cisco’s high growth era (1996-2000), where sales grew from $4B to $20B, employees from 8,000 to 40,000 and 63 companies were acquired.
Alex holds a BSEE from Stanford University and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and speaks both Spanish and German fluently. He is an avid pilot, golfer and skier, and enjoys traveling.
